Salt-N-Pepa is a Grammy Award-winning American hip hop trio from Queens, New York, that came onto the music scene in 1985. The group, consisting of Cheryl James ("Salt", now Cheryl Wray), Sandra Denton ("Pepa"), and Deidra "Dee Dee" Roper (Spinderella), has sold over 15 million albums and singles worldwide. Salt-N-Pepa is the best selling female rap act. They released five albums, Hot, Cool & Vicious ("Push It"), A Salt with a Deadly Pepa "Everybody Get Up" and "Twist And Shout"), Blacks' Magic ("Let's Talk About Sex"), Very Necessary ("Whatta Man", "None Of Your Business") and Brand New ("R U Ready", "Gitty Up")
