Biography

Jacques Labrecque is a singer, folklorist, producer and publisher of Quebec, born June 8, 1917 in Saint-Benoît-du-Lac and died in Longueuil, March 18, 1995. At 17 (1934), Jacques Labrecque started successfully as a tenor and performer of songs at shows such as LeRéveil rural of Rural Radio-Canada. In the late 1930s, he sings at the Varietes lyriques of Montreal. He knows his first hit with the song La parenté of Jean-Paul Filion in 1957. He died in 1995, and today there are twenty titles including several compilations of his best success.
