Biography

Dick Rivers (born Hervé Forneri on April 24, 1946 in Nice, France) is a French singer and actor who has been performing since the early 1960s. He was an important figure in introducing rock'n'roll music in France. He is known for being an avid admirer of Elvis Presley, who highly influenced both his singing and looks. His name comes from the character that Elvis Presley played in his second movie in 1957 "Loving You" Jimmy Tompkins (Deke Rivers). He started in 1961 as the lead singer of the band Les Chats Sauvages but shortly left to pursue a solo career in 1962. His latest album, called Dick Rivers, was released in 2006.
