Born Rebecca Carlene Smith on September 26th, 1955 to June Carter and her first husband, Carl Smith. Carlene Carter is an American country singer and songwriter with a distinct rock edge to her music. Carlene was the step-daughter of the late Johnny Cash. She was a bright kid. She began playing piano at 6 and guitar at 10. Her career really sprouted in 1990, with the release of her album ‘’I Fell in Love’’. The album and its title track topped US Country Charts. Other notable successes are her songs ‘’Come on Back’’ and ‘’Every Little Thing’’
