Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (born September 4, 1981), often called Beyoncé, is an American singer of R & B and pop and also actress and model. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Beyonce became famous in the late 1990s as the leading female R & B group Destiny's Child, one of the women's groups who sold the most records in the world. As a solo artist, Beyonce has currently 4 cd to her credit, Dangerously in Love, B'Day, I Am ... Sasha Fierce and 4. Her third solo album I Am... Sasha Fierce, released in 2008, spawned four commercially successful singles—"If I Were a Boy", "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)", "Halo" and "Sweet Dreams". The album earned Knowles six Grammys, breaking the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night.
