Biographie
Born Pierino Ronald Como on May 18th, 1912 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Perry Como was the seventh of thirteen children to his Italian immigrant parents. He was the first born in the United States. He did not speak English until he started school. Having a second hand organ at home, young Perry would play songs by ear. His father, although he couldn’t really afford them, sent him and his siblings to music lessons. Como was known for both his musical talents and as a tv personality. He recorded for RCA Victor his entire career which spanned more than half a century. He has sold millions of records over the years and received many awards including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously. He has 3 stars on the Hollywood walk of fame for work in radio, television and music.
